great budget digital watch Dec 09, 2009
By Razvan
"El Bandito"
Got my watch today and I love it. I think it's a cool watch, considering the price. It looks good, it's large (including its display) but not heavy, has plenty of features, and it definitely looks more expensive than it is.
The bezel is stainless steel and slightly curved, the display is large and the digits can be easily seen. The band is wide, matte black and seems a little flimsy, but that also adds to the overall lightness of the watch. Will have to see how long the band will last, but what can you expect from a watch that cost less than 20 dollars anyway? The back plate is square and also made of stainless steel. It is secured in place by 4 screws, good news, since it's supposed to be waterproof (ahem, water resistant...sorry). Also, it looks like the band might have to be removed in order to take off the back plate and replace the battery.
Its features include dual time, alarm, timer, date, and stop watch, and to my pleasant surprise (as it is omitted on the product page), backlight. Actually it's not the background that is illuminated, but the digits themselves. Also, the viewing angle of the illuminated display is better wile the watch is on the wrist (rather than when holding it at eye level) which is fine.
Overall, a handsome budget watch, retro stylish as well as sporty. Watch out for oily/dirty fingers on the brushed steel bezel, as they tend to show easily. Less than 19 dollars, free shipping and no sales taxes? Sounds like a good stocking stuffer too! (And I don't even work for Armitron! ha ha) Happy Holidays!

I love it Feb 21, 2010
By D. Punch This watch is worn as casual and work. It looks great and is accurate. I probably should have bought two because by the time this one dies it may not be available any more.
Oct. 7 2011: After a year and a half this watch is still running and looking like new. I bought it as a work watch but like it so much I wear it for all occasions but formal ones. The style is simple, has large easy to read numerals and is easy to set. I haven't had to replace the battery as yet.
