| | Description | In my opinion, this collection is one of the most stunning classic watches that Orient has to offer. It has a very clean and simple design but looks sophisticated. What I love most about this watch is the 3-tone design on the surface of the dial (face). The textures of the inner dial, as well as the outer dial, complement well with the texture of the sub-dials. The dial has many attributes that make this watch into a successful timepiece. Features such as the date indicator (located at the 6 o’clock position,) the day sub-dial (located near the 2 o’clock position,) and the 24-hour sub-dial makes you value such a work of art. If you want to adjust the date, you must first loosen the crown (time-setting knob) located at the 4 o’clock position. You will notice that there are 2 levels to the crown. The first level adjusts the date indicator, while the second level adjusts the time and the date of week. The hour and minute hands are both luminescent so you may view the time in the dark. When adjusting the time, you will see that the 24-hour sub-dial corresponds with the movement of the hour hand. The crown comes with the engraved Orient logo and shoulders for protection. This automatic watch runs on the power stored within the spring of the watch. As the owner wears the watch, the spring naturally stores power. This watch is also water-resistant for up to 50 meters. Bands and clasps are important aspects to a watch as they can provide a nice feel and should compliment the rest of the watch’s vibrant design. For this watch, the band is engineered to focus on comfort. The metal band comes with both matte and finished links. This provides a two-toned shine to the rest of the watch. Next to the dial, you will see that the first two links are tapered followed by untapered links. The deployment clasp for this collection adds security so that the watch does not come off unintentionally. The three dial-color variations to this watch come in: black, navy blue, or white. | |

I almost don't want to write a review for this watch because I want to keep it all to myself! Jul 26, 2007
By M. Thomas An absolutely beautiful timepiece. You can read various details online about the Orient company, its history and reputation. I first ran across the brand a year or so ago on a trip through Asia. I didn't buy one then, but I've been stalking Orients since I got back. From my limited experience so farwith this Multi-Eye I can vouch for solid design and very nice craftsmanship - from the domed crystal, to the heavy-weight band, to the delicate detailwork on the face this watch is just wonderful to look at and to wear. We'll see how the self-winding movement holds up over time (again, you can find resources for Orient movements online). I am not personally one to get caught up in + or - seconds a day. If I want accuracy I'll buy Quartz. I bought this watch mainly as a dressier piece so I anticipate resetting the time on a semi-regular basis or using a watchwinder to keep it up to speed. I am now anxiously stalking my next Orient. You'll certainly run across other folks with more expensive watches. I personally have no interest in dropping a grand or more on something as insignificant at a watch. At this price and for my taste, I don't think that you could find anything that is as much of a knockout. Should reliability become an issue I'll edit this review accordingly.

Great Looks and Quality Far Outweigh Whats Lacking Feb 10, 2009
By Suspect_7 Amazing timepiece... the watch is better looking than I had expected. While classically designed, the few Arabic numbers, unique black face and bracelet design make this watch versatile enough to wear with most of your wardrobe. The data says that the face is about 42 mm wide but that includes the crown. Without the crown it comes to a nice 39mm (not to big and not to small)
For the price you get 1) Orient's in-house automatic movement which has a great reputation among collectors 2) A 20mm solid steel bracelet with a nice combination of 2 finishes. Many watches at this price have a bracelet with folded links which generally are not made as well and kind of noisy if the watch moves at all on the wrist. 3) Push button clasp which is a personal preference of mine.
Somebody may care so I am going to say that the only minor complaint that I have is that it has a domed mineral crystal which sometimes causes the face to distort and reflect light when looking at the watch at odd angles or directly under a light. And it also would have been nice to have a screw down crown. Of course if I were to get a similar watch with a sapphire crystal and a screw down crown I would also be paying A LOT more money. Its not worth the upgrade if you have a limited pocket depth.

Perfect mix of form, function, and value Feb 02, 2010
By Jonathan C. Williams I purchased this watch after much research. I knew I wanted something with a great mix of value, form, and function. I think this watch is a home run in all three of those categories.
As far as value, your getting an automatic watch from a company with proven designs for $120 (you might be able to find it cheaper on Orient's USA site and with a coupon!). I ended up getting it on Amazon because Orient was out of stock of the this specific watch in black.
As for form, I love it! Everything from the intricate designs of the black background on the watch (see close up photos here: [...]) to the simple design with few numbers...gives this watch avery intriguing look, yet doesn't look too busy. Even the band looks great. I love the brushed finish along side the polished finish. Even the offset crown adds to the looks, and is functional.
As far as function, I love having the ability to check the normal time, 24-hour time, day of the week, and date. I find myself filling out forms on a daily basis and wondering what day of the week it is, or the date. Now I don't have to worry about it. So useful! And the extra functionality blends into the form of the watch perfectly. The hands and hour markers are also glow-in-the-dark, which can be useful.
Overall, I LOVE this watch. I'm thrilled that I got such a great mix of value, form, and function. At the end of the day, that's all I want in a product.

"Yoae38"
perfect for me!!!!
on your wrist looks even better.
not too big, not too thick, some, but not too many gadgets, just what i was looking for (long time..).
i was suprisedd how accurate it is in time keeping (for this price).
but don't change time backwards, that will freez your date for days. always forewards...
but that is what you always do with machanic watches
enjoy!!!!

Looks Great!! May 01, 2009
By Steven Ramos
Watch is perfect! Looks very expensive when you wear it and even the name makes it sound expensive. I can't believe the price was so low for a nice watch that doesn't need a battery.
this watch is not for people who don't wear watches most days. You need to wear it usually everyday to keep the power level up. The watch's battery is powered by the movement from your arms so you need to wear it to keep it going. You can leave it still for a couple days after a full day of wearing it so you don't have to wear it everyday.
