3good watch, low backlighting, small size  Jul 25, 2011 By Bob Debes
I like this watch - don't get me wrong. But it was advertised as a 'full size' watch - which, to me, meant that it was on the larger side of the watch spectrum. In fact, it is more of a 'standard' sized watch - kind of hard to see when you're running. Another small complaint is the brightness of the Indiglo light. Not nearly as bright as previous Timex Ironman models I've owned. Again, not a big deal - but I use that function in the morning when I'm waking up in order to see what time it is in low light settings (usually around 5 am). It's kind of hard to read the display with the Indiglo light on. Finally, maybe it's me but the time/alarm setting functions have changed a bit (for the worse in my opinion). Specifically, I used to be able to turn the alarm on and off by simply pushing a button. Now, you have to go into the settings mode and scroll through the date, year, hour, minute, seconds, etc. before you can turn on and off the alarm. That seems kind of burdensome when compared with previous models. Also, when setting the time/alarm, you can only go 'down' in time, you can't go up. Therefore, if you are trying to set the watch time for 5:14 pm and the current display shows 5:10 pm, you have to scroll the minutes backwards to :14 instead of simply scrolling up 4 minutes.

All in all, this watch is definitely a good value and is nice/sporty looking. It does what it is designed to do - keep time accurately and gives you some workout functions. But the ease of operation seems to have gotten more difficult from previous models.

4Good watch...  Jun 05, 2010 By Paul Sanchez "Paul"
This is a good watch for an intermediate (my level) swimmer, cyclist or runner; not too complicated to use, big and clear numbers, soft resin made straps, big start/pause button and they are not hard to press, very nice and stylish design, the alarm is good, but it will not wake you up if you are really tired. The only complain I have is that it seems to be made for men with really thick wrists, or maybe mine are just under average. You see, I have to wear the watch with the pin in the second to last hole in the strap and even then it doesn't really fit. It is better when the weather is hot, otherwise it just moves towards my hand all the time.
Be careful with something, the warranty is void if you don't get it stamped by the seller. I brought up this issue to Amazon.com and they contacted the company to make sure the warranty was valid only with my receipt.
I hope this helps.

4Good tough watch - call Timex to get a replacement strap  Jul 29, 2011 By Extechie
I have had mine for over a year and have abused it endlessly which the watch doesnt seem to mind. Recently the strap started falling apart. This watch uses a unique screw-on strap, not the more common spring loaded pin type. I found NO retailers that carried the strap for this model. I was about to give up when I sent email to Timex complaining about the lack of a replacement strap. They responded almost immediately and gave me a number at their customer service to call. Bottom line - I was able to get an original replacement strap for $8.50 total in the mail within a few days. This beats the almost-but-not-quite-the-same replacement straps I saw for my previous Ironman watches at the retail stores hands down. Correct look. Correct fit. Cheap!

3Great watch but strap could be better  Jun 01, 2011 By Kris
Bought this watch to replace my old Ironman watch, which took a beating and kept going strong until I tried to replace the battery. Bought this watch and within 2 months the strap broke near screw that holds the watch in place. Still like the watch, but am looking for a better strap. Like the idea that I just need to undo some screws to replace the strap, and the battery is more accessable if I need to replace it.

4Great watch for swimmers  Feb 16, 2012 By Swimmer4Life
I'm a swimmer, a true swimmer. I live in the water, almost. I'm at the pool 6 days a week and I spend an hour or so in the shower. This watch is what any swimmer needs. It keeps time well, alarm will wake you up, the chrono lap/spl works well, kind of confusing on how to work it, and the indigo light is a great addition.
