FOR ME - THIS IS THE PERFECT WATCH - IT MEETS ALL MY REQUIREMENTS Dec 21, 2011
By D. Blankenship Watches are a rather personal thing and each of us has specific requirements; likes and dislikes when it comes to what we want strapped to our wrist and what our requirements are in functions; it sort of boils down to "each his own."
My requirements are rather simple and "simple" leads the short list of my requirements. First, I do not like a lot of whistles and bells. I have no desire to know the time in each capitol of the world. I do not need a watch that is waterproof to 10,000 feet. I could care less as to the phases of the moon. I do not need an alarm system to remind me of appointments nor do I want something that takes an advanced degree en engineering or computer science to set date, time and what ever.
Secondly, I want a watch that is unobtrusive - clean looking - no glitter or bling. I want to be able to see the numbers and, both time and date. I do not want any funny little "sub-dials" cluttering up the face. If the watch appears even slightly pretentious I want nothing to do with it. But hey, that is just me.
Third, and this is probably one of the more important features I look for, is a watch that actually keep reasonable time consistently. I hate setting and resetting a watch. The numbers, both time and date, are easy to read and glow nicely in the dark.
Fifth - I absolutely hate paying more than one hundred dollars for a watch. I am hard on watches. I either break them, loose them or generally bang them up. To pay big buck for something that I am surly bound to destroy, for me, is a complete waste of money.
The watch being reviewed here meets all my requirements.
Now I grant you, like another reviewer here I would prefer that this watch was that of the original and well made Swiss Army watch by Victorinox. I had one at one time and loved it. I destroyed it...well, actually an ostrich I was attempting to load in a trailer destroyed it, (ripped the band off and ripped the winding stem off), but the ostrich was only being an ostrich and I probably would have fought just as hard if someone was trying to load me in some strange contraption - I hold no ranker against the bird...the emergency room bill was large, but I have good insurance. Anyway, I would have preferred to have the Victorinox but I was an am unwilling to pay the price. The watch being reviewed here, for me, was an excellent compromise.
This watch is a bit larger that watches I normally wear but I am getting use to that. It is clean looking, attractive and so far (about three months now) it has kept perfect time.
I must admit to have had some trepidation about the leather band. I spend a lot of time at the gym and biking, and truth be told, sweat like a pig. So far though the band has held up well and the staining is at a minimum. When and if the band gets to looking too funky (through no fault of the band itself), I will replace it with something more suited for my lifestyle.
I like this watch and am completely satisfied with it. If I can get two or three years use out of it without destroying it I will be happy...if it lasts longer, well that for me, is just extra gravy.

Hopeful Sep 30, 2011
By Otto Hemi I suspect many are like me and bought this watch even though we wanted something else. The original Swiss Army watch by Victorinox is exceptionally beautiful, but at a premium price (retails at three times the price). But the Wenger is a good substitute.
I like what I've seen so far, but I'll have to wait. The first watch I got had a loose minute hand that wobbled from side to side as the watch was rotated. I'm pretty sure that's not normal. Note: I'm not talking about the same phenomenon that affects the seconds hand on nearly every digital analog watch. Those are notoriously wobbly and misaligned even on very expensive marques.
This watch is a little bigger than I'm used to (don't know what the reviewer below means by "small") at 41 mm, but I think it'll grow on me. Rolex has a standard of 35mm for their dress watches and Victorinox is about ideal at 38mm. But, hey...bigger is better, right? It sure is easy to read.
Note that the watch pictured above is NOT the same watch that Amazon is shipping. You can see the actual model on Wenger's web site. The bezel is slightly bulkier and the numbers are larger and more blocky in appearance. The band is also different. I actually prefer the look of the one Amazon pictures, but that's not the one you're going to get.

Easy to See What Time it Is Jul 15, 2011

I've had this watch for two months now, and I think what I like about it most, is that you can easily tell what time it is from varying angles. It is comfortable on the wrist, looks classy, and I'm sure this watch will last a long time - I have only owned swiss military watches for the past 30 years - and they have never failed me.
Classy Watch for Husband/Dad Feb 06, 2012
By Reilly's Mommy My husband is not a watch collector, and it is rare that he would ever purchase one for himself. I felt it was time to expand his watch wardrobe to include a brown leather strapped one. The black bezel and glow in the dark numbers set it apart from other watches on the market today. And the fact that it also has military time on the face is a huge plus for those of us in law enforcement. No need to add 12 anymore! The hubs says it's super comfy and a good weight on the arm. He wears it daily. Plus, it's Swiss made so I know it'll last! Highly recommend!
Easy To Read Jan 29, 2012
By Diane Surman I bought this watch for my husband in Sept. for his birthday. He wanted something that was easy to read and had a leather band. This watch fit the bill perfectly. He loved it from the moment he saw it. It keeps great time and overall is a great looking watch. It was a good purchase. If you're looking for clean and simple, you can't go wrong with this watch.
